Hatfield Christian School's vision is to raise future leaders; visionary young men and women full of faith who, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, will impact the city, country and continent.
Everything that is taught at school, whether it be purely scientific, the highly academic or the mundane of cooking and sewing, must have applied value as a potential life skill to students, motivating their studies, since they have the understanding of its significance in their future life.
The school initially used the lecture rooms of the Hatfield Christian Church, but soon needed proper school facilities. He church built a Children's Church (Sunday School) in 1990, and the school was able to use the same classrooms during the week. Within a short period, however, space became limited again and consequently the school built the second phase. Hatfield Christian school facilities are now available for other ministries like the Children's Church and Literacy Training classes.
We place a high premium on developing a sound Christian value system. The school therefore make provision, on a daily basis, for counselling of pupils. Staff training takes place on a continuous basis and teachers are equipped to address students' emotional, spiritual and academic needs.
The school has a Discipleship programme, whereby students are assisted towards realising their purpose and potential in life, by sufficiently trained personnel. We trust that by affording the pupils leadership opportunities they will aspire to the vision the school has set before itself.
We strive to cultivate excellent relationships between pupils and staff, based on mutual respect and love. All teaching takes place in a thoroughly Christian environment, where personal attention can maximise students' progress and character development, resulting in training "leaders of leaders".
As a matter of policy, we have small student/teacher ratios and hence small classes. Our modern school facilities also enable the teacher to apply a variety of teaching methods, reaching the very talented as well as the slower learner.
