School Type: Special Needs

Glenoaks School has served the community for twenty two years. We cater for children who are struggling to achieve and succeed in mainstream schools, and who need the support of a caring environment to reestablish a positive relationship with learning. We strive to achieve happy, selfconfident and self-reliant learners.

WE OFFER:

  • Small classes, with a maximum of 12 learners
  • Speech and Language Therapy
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Remedial Therapy
  • Psychotherapy

All of these therapies are integral to the school day, and the multi-disciplinary team of therapists liase closely among themselves and with the teachers regarding treatment programmes.

We use the Gauteng Department of Education curriculum as a basis for classroom teaching, but adapt it according to the varied needs within a year group. Children between Grades 1 and 7 are catered for. We also have Bridging Classes for those learners who need more practical input.

When children leave Glenoaks School, they go to a wide range of private and public schools or move on to a secondary school that offers the support that some children may still need.

The school can cater for 120 boys and girls. Extra curricular activities include Computer Club, Art Club, Monkeynastix and a Drama Club.
