The Principal and staff of Cornerstone College are committed to the pursuit of excellence. We believe in quality, progressive education which aims at the development of responsible young people who are fully equipped for success: academically, physically, spiritually and morally.
Emphasis is placed on the individuality of each child to develop special talents and abilities, whilst a strongly disciplined environment and firm Christian values provide security and guidance. The hostel is run on the same basis, producing individuals of excellent calibre and academic performance.
A dedicated team of qualified and experienced teachers ensures high academic standards. We have achieved a 100% Matric pass rate for the period 1998 to 2010. Our batchelors degree acceptance is 93% and our tertiary education acceptance is 99.2%. In 2010 we had 166 distinctions.
Spring and winter schools supplement classroom teaching, especially for Matrics. Supervised homework sessions and extra tuition are provided. Remedial teaching and consultations with educational psychologists are available if necessary. Weekly life-skills sessions cover topics such as study methods, AIDS, sexuality and the work ethic. Attention is also given to entrepreneurial development. We are committed to and involved in the local community, as well as teaching sensitivity to the environment-with activities such as recycling waste and planting trees.
