An International Baccalaureate World School teaching the Primary Years Programme and Diploma Programme.

The International School of Hout Bay’s Primary School is the first Primary Years Programme School in South Africa. In so doing it joined the largest educational community in the world, a body of 4046 IB World Schools in 138 countries.

290 pupils, catering from Early Years to matriculation. A 1:7 teacher-pupil ratio with specialist learning support, music, art and drama teachers.

In 2010 the first class cohort of Hout Bay pupils wrote the matriculation examination of the International Baccalaureate, the Diploma. The statistics published by the International Baccalaureate Organisation show that the International School of Hout Bay achieved a higher average than the world wide average. This is an outstanding achievement considering that our students competed against the best students from the UK, Far and Middle East and the Americas.

A Cambridge International Examinations Centre  teaching the IGCSE curriculum. Since 2005 the school has achieved a 100% pass rate at IGCSE level with Cambridge International Examinations.
