The Department of Basic Education has released the draft National Policy on the Conduct, Administration and Management of the Annual National Assessments (ANA) for public comment.
This policy document forms the basis for the Minister of Basic Education to determine the minimum norms and standards, as well as the processes and procedures for the conduct, administration and management of ANA, which is a part of learner achievement and which is applicable to public and independent schools. The policy is aimed at ensuring reliability and validity of the ANA results.
The administration of ANA in the past few years has been problematic and this has severely affected many subsidised independent schools. It would therefore be crucial to interrogate the policy document and provide meaningful input and comments.
To this end, ISASA invites member schools to please provide input and comment on the draft National Policy on the Conduct, Administration and Management of the Annual National Assessments (ANA), to Ms Confidence Dikgole on or before Friday, 14 August 2015.
